WEST BOUNTIFUL — South Davis residents are used to seeing area firefighters out with their boots over Labor Day weekend asking donations to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

This year, in conjunction with the annual drive, diners can support the MDA by eating.

South Davis Metro Fire Agency firefighters have joined with Texas Roadhouse, 365 North 500 West, to raise funds for “Jerry’s Kids.

On Friday, Sept. 3, diners may enjoy a pulled pork sandwich, beans, salad and a drink for $15 between 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.The meals will be served by area firefighters.

SDMFA Chief Jim Rampton said, “We believe this will be an extremely fun event for everyone. We know we can save lives and protect property, but can we serve food and drinks?”

Only the steak house’s customers will be able to say.

Firefighters will also be out that weekend at various intersections asking the public to fill their boots with change for MDA.

Tickets for the lunch may be purchased at SDMFA station 81, 255 S. 100 West, in Bountiful.
