Sixteen area restaurants are planning to give attendees a chance to taste a variety of culinary items in this Davis Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event.
Diners can enjoy background music from “Red Shot Pony” while they make the rounds of the various restaurants who will set up tables and booths at Commons Park across from Layton High School.
A similar Taste of the Town will again be held in Bountiful the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 4 along Main Street. It will be held in conjunction with Summerfest.
“We hope the community will join us for this tradition. Our restaurant friends will come together for a tasty celebration to provide a unique synergy and vibe,” says event chair Kym Buttschardt.

Thousands of people generally gather to “taste their way around the county,” with participating restaurants including Boston’s, Corbin’s Grille, Cutler’s Cookies and Sandwiches, Daily Rise, Davis Hospital, Holy Smoke BBQ, MacCool’s Public House, Roosters, Taste of India, Zeppes Italian Water Ice, NYPD Pizzeria.
Also, Sugar Daisy Bakery, Bandidos Border Grill, TCBY, Moxi Bistro and Cutsie Cakes. The event is free but tickets are $1 for each tasting or $10 for 12. Guests can redeem their tickets at restaurant booths of their choice. Most items will require less than four tickets. Restaurants will provide smaller samples for a modest fee.
Most eateries will also provide a 15 percent discount to Taste of the Town guests from July 24 to Aug. 31. Guests must show their Taste of Town tickets at participating restaurants to take advantage of that offer.
“Riders in the Sky” will perform in a free concert following Taste of the Town at the Ed Kenley Amphitheater.
