Belle Stoddard threw a complete game for the Lady Braves and Heather Stucki and Austin Taylor each had doubles. The win is Bountiful’s sixth straight and pushed the Lady Braves’ record to 9-1 (2-0 in Region 6 play).
Bountiful opened the season with a 6-1 win over Alta and followed that up with wins over East (10-0) and Copper Hills (6-1).
The lone loss on the year for Bountiful came at the hands of Union High (4-3) at the Snow Canyon tournament.
Bountiful bounced back and hammered Pine View, 11-0. Next up for Bountiful was a 4-2 win over Carbon and a 16-2 slamming of Wasatch.
The next two victims to fall to Bountiful were Emery (12-2) and Uintah (11-9) and then the Highland victory.
Next up for the Lady Braves is a showdown with rival Woods Cross on Tuesday.
The Lady Cats stand 9-3 and also exploded in its last game, a 15-0 beating of East.
Woods Cross opened its season with a 10-2 win over Skyline and 10-1 victory over Mountain Crest.
Woods Cross then dropped two close games to Olympus (2-1) and Taylorsville (6-5).
The Cats went on a roll after that beating Carbon, 8-3; Canyon View, 11-1; Snow Canyon, 4-3; Union,5-2; and Stansbury, 4-3 before falling to Brighton, 9-1.
Tuesday’s game will be for control of Region 6.
