Davis County musicians Peter Breinholt and Brittany Darrohn (aka “Critter”) will be joining Mindy Gledhill and Sam Payne for the “Courage to Shine” benefit concert, which will be held March 5 at 7 p.m. at the BYU Wilkinson Center in Provo. Proceeds from the concert will go toward One Heart Bulgaria, a non-profit humanitarian group who works to improve the quality of life for Bulgarian orphans.
“This is really big,” said Jan Wray, head of the Bountiful High Interact Club. The club is also supporting the benefit concert.
Bountiful native Brienholt will be joining Provo-based Gledhill and Payne for the main concert, which will also feature slides and photos of Gledhill and Payne’s recent humanitarian trip to Bulgaria. Opening for them will be Darrohn, a Farmington resident who will be releasing her first album this coming spring.
One Heart Bulgaria maintains several programs designed to help the orphans of Bulgaria, including treatment for Hydrocephalus (fluid on the brain), internships, grandmother nurturing, and opportunity homes.
Tickets are $10 for singles, with $8 student tickets and $40 family passes also available. They can be purchased online at oneheart-bg.org/courage_to_shine_splash.php. or at the door.
