“I wasn’t thinking about how many service points I had,” Hibbert said, who finished the match with 26 service points. “I was just thinking about getting the ball over the net and to keep us going.
“This was important for us with Region and with sending our seniors out on a high note of beating our rival for the last time, especially on our floor.”
Bountiful jumped out and captured game 1 25-20, but saw Woods Cross bounce back to take the next two games, 25-23, 25-23. In what could have been the elimination game, the Braves took game 4 25-21, setting up for the dramatic fifth game.
“I’m real happy with the way we responded again with our backs against the wall,” said Braves coach Lane Herrick. “The girls did what they needed to do to get the win.”
Bountiful’s Shayli Losefa had 30 kills, Chey Jacobs had 27 kills.
“Shayli and Chey both came up big for us tonight,” Herrick said. “The girls came through and that’s always exciting to see.”
