SALT LAKE CITY — The Grant Training Center is offering a three-day proposal workshop at the University of Utah focused on the diversity of grant funding and, specifically, the 2009 economic stimulus package.

The Grant Training Center and University of Utah invites Davis County residents to participate. The workshop begins on Monday, Sept. 14.

The three-day workshop is geared toward those who wish to strengthen their grant-writing skills as well as beginners who are interested in mastering the techniques. Preparing writing and winning proposals comes by giving attention to telling the story that leads to funding, organizers note.

Research, in the sciences, social sciences, education and in non-profit professions can all contribute to the story. Effectively telling that story helps to lead to funding.

In light of the 2009 economic stimulus package, participants will be taught how to to comprehend the diversity of the grant, to research and identify funding sources, create the right fit with a funding agency, address the guidelines of a proposal, integrate each component of the grant, develop focused and realistic budgets and package professional submissions.

The workshop fee is $595, which includes tuition, books, material and a continental breakfast. For more information or to register, call 1-866-704-7268.
