Resident joins Farmers Insurance

BOUNTIFUL — Bountiful resident Lou Pozzuoli has joined the Farmers Insurance Group as a personal lines and commercial insurance agent.

Pozzuoli is a veteran in the insurance industry with over seven years experience serving the needs of the people of Davis County.

Dest. Homes has new consultant

LAYTON — Destination Homes, headquartered in Layton, has hired Malia Warburton as its new Interior Design Consultant.

Warburton has been working in interior design for five years. She has done interior design work for homes in the Northern Wasatch Parade of Homes as well as Salt Lake Parade of Homes.

“As a designer I have always been impressed with Destination Homes,” Warburton said. “Even in a slower market Destination Homes is including styles and features in its home plans not seen in every builder.”

Warburton graduated from Weber State University in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in technical sales and an emphasis in interior design.

Zions’ grant deadline approaching

Zions bank, with locations in Davis County, is offering women the chance to receive a $3,000 grant.

The grant, known as the “Smart Women’s Grant,” gives grants to women who excel in a variety of fields.

One grant will be offered in six different categories, including small business start up and expansion, community development, continuing education and teacher support, child and elder care, health and human services and arts and culture.

“We developed the Smart Women Grants to help bolster the efforts of everyday heroes who strengthen our communities in so many ways through their various talents,” said Cece Mitchell, Women's Financial Group manager. “As the Intermountain West’s premiere financial center for women, the Zions Bank Women’s Financial Group created the grants as an extension of our ongoing commitment to empower women in achieving financial independence.”

The grants are available to female residents of Utah and Idaho. Applicants must be business owners and the primary manager of the day-to-day activities of their company.

The deadline to submit an application is July 31.

Local chain voted best in state

LAYTON — Red Mango, with a franchise location at 2065 North Harris Blvd. in Layton, was named “Best of State in Utah” in the frozen yogurt category by BestofState.org, which recognizes individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah.
