SALT LAKE CITY— Some big names will be speaking at RootsTech 2017.
Jonathan and Drew Scott, best known as the twin brothers from HGTV’s “Property Brothers,” will be the keynote speakers for RootsTech 2017. In addition, President Russel M. Nelson, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at RootsTech’s Family Discovery Day along with his wife, Wendy.
The Scott Brothers, who are set to speak Feb. 9, will talk about the influence family has had on their lives. The two brothers, who have several spin-off shows and are syndicated worldwide, purchased their first fixer-upper house when they were 17.
President Nelson was called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in 1984, but before that he was an internationally known heart surgeon who performed the first open-heart surgery in Utah. Wendy Nelson is an author and avid genealogist.
RootsTech is a multiple-day conference focusing on the newest technology in genealogy and family history research. Family Discovery Day, which also includes inspiring messages and family-history related activities, is for members of the LDS church and their families.
Though Family Discovery Day is free, advance registration is required. To register, or purchase tickets for Rootstech, visit RootsTech.org.
