BOUNTIFUL – Bountiful Blvd., and Indian Springs Road, were closed for about two and a half hours as crews worked to repair a gas line break on Friday morning.

A construction crew accidently cut a 3 inch distribution gas line about 10:25 a.m., according to South Davis Metro Fire Agency Chief Jeff Bassett.

Questar Gas crews were on scene throughout the morning repairing the line. The roads were reopened about 1 p.m.

The public was asked to avoid travel in the area and to take alternate routes while repairs were being made. However, there were no evacuations.

Fire and gas company crews remained on scene to monitor the situation, Bassett said.

The work was made easier and less dangerous because the wind was not blowing, causing the gas to travel straight up into the air.
