John and Carolyn Kunz are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. Family and friends are invited to attend an open house on Saturday, Sept. 13 at the LDS Chapel at 600 E. 1500 South, Bountiful, between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m.

Sept. 17, 1954 was the date — the place the Logan LDS Temple — the beginning of this happy union. Both were attending Utah State Agricultural College (now known as USU) and graduated on the same day in June 1956. Doing things together is still their motto. They now serve together in the Bountiful LDS Temple. They have also served in temples in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and the Philippines as well as the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

To this couple were born four children: Burton (Lisa), Ronald (Nancy), Vernon (Lori) and Elaine (Lee) who have given them 15 grandchildren (two of whom are deceased) and three great-grandchildren (with more on the way).

John’s career was with Utah Power & Light Company as an engineer. Carolyn’s career was “engineering” the raising of their children plus doing volunteer work in the church and community.
