The suspect was released into his father's custody, while authorities review possible charges, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.
The man was found by a janitor on the 6th floor of the building. He was allegedly "highly intoxicated," Royce said.
A trooper had checked the door within a half-hour of the suspect being found. Apparently, within that half-hour time frame, an employee had exited the door to take a break, and when he returned, air pressure held the door open, Royce said.
When questioned, the man was unaware he was even in the State Office Building, located north of the State Capitol Building, Royce said.
The man had a superficial wound to his face, which apparently had happened before he entered the building, Royce said.
All offices on the 6th floor were securely locked at the time, and he was found in the lobby area on the floor.
