KAYSVILLE — An open house to introduce the tutoring services available at Integrated Learning Strategies was held Saturday, Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The grand opening celebration of the new learning program took place on the second floor of the Kaysville SportsPlex, located at 1188 W. SportsPlex Drive.

Using research-based techniques, ILS utilizes music and movement to help children with academic challenges such as autism, attention deficit hyperactity disorder and dyslexia, according to a press release.

“This is a great opportunity for us to show parents how our programs are helping kids with academic challenges and learning disabilities succeed in school,” said Alene Villaneda, founder and chief executive officer of ILS, as quoted in the release.

“We want parents to become more informed about how our services differ from traditional tutoring methods,” she said, “and how we are using music and movement to enhance brain development while implementing evidence-based programs to improve reading, writing, comprehension, math and critical thinking.”

Games, face painting and balloon art were providecd for children at the open house. Prizes included passes to the gym, and day-passes to Lagoon, Cherry Hill and the Living Planet Aquarium.

In addition, instructors provided free screenings and answer questions for parents.
