LAYTON – Emergency officials were dispatched to Adams Canyon above Layton Wednesday afternoon to rescue a woman who was injured in a fall.
Layton Fire spokesman Doug Bitton told the Clipper a call came in at around 1 p.m. from a man who said his female companion fell into the creek and was injured.
The woman fell into the creek near campsite at the halfway point in the trail to the Adams Canyon waterfalls, according to Bitton.
EMTs made the hike up to the campsite and transported the woman on a stretcher down the canyon.
He said the woman’s injuries were not life threatening, but that she could not walk out on her own.
Bitton warned hikers to stay on the trail, bring plenty of water and always hike with companions in the summer months.
