CENTERVILLE — There are still seats available for those wishing to participate in a Mormon Battalion trip sponsored by the Centerville Chapter, Sons of the Utah Pioneers (SUP).

The bus trip will travel the 1,600 miles from Centerville to San Diego and back, with the trip lasting six days, Monday, Aug. 11-Saturday, Aug. 16.

Historical information about the Battalion’s march will be given during the bus tour. More will be available at the Mormon Battalion Visitor Center in Old Town San Diego.

The Battalion walked 2,000 miles from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, via Santa Fe, N.M., ending at San Diego in 1846.

Trip cost is $1,100 per couple including bus fare, accommodations each night and some breakfasts for two.

“Even if you have been to some of these places we encourage you to join with us for the fun and spiritual times we will have on the bus, and at the places we stay,” said Green Clark.

For more information call Clark at 801-295-5050.
