WEST BOUNTIFUL - Their hearts are in their songs.
TimeRiver, a folk band that also plays some pop and country music, will perform a free concert on June 13 at 7 p.m. at West Bountiful City Hall.
“Our group is vocally centered,” said Steve VanDyke, one of the group’s members. “Don (another band member) plays everything really well, but the instruments support the voices.”
Don Hansen is VanDyke’s half brother, and one of the first people he thought of when he was looking to form a new band closer to home several years ago. Another is Lynn Ballard, who VanDyke went to high school with.
“The three of us have sung together for about 40 years,” he said.
The group also includes Julieann Bradshaw, who sings alto.
Though the band members live across the Wasatch Front, the group does have ties to the city. Ballard’s son Steve is a regular performer at the city’s annual Cowboy Poetry program.
West Bountiful City Hall is located at 550 N. 800 West. The event is part of the West Bountiful Arts Council’s free monthly performance series.
