BOUNTIFUL — The list of candidates seeking the State School Board District 5 slot was narrowed, late last week.
A 12-member committee reduced the number of candidates, all running non-partisan, for the seat, which serves much of Davis County, including South Davis, Farmington and Kaysville areas.
Governor Herbert will then choose two candidates to be placed on the November general election ballot.
• Amy Hayter, who is a Salt Lake Community College adjunct instructor in English as a Second Language
• Laura Collier Belnap, principal for the Washington County School District’s online school
• Mark H. Bouchard, senior managing director at CBRE Inc. He is the former chair of Prosperity 2020.
• Richard Gill, a retired oil and gas attorney and vice president of Questar Corporation.
Incumbent Kim Burningham of Bountiful, is retiring after many years of service on the board. He also is a retired teacher, having taught at Bountiful High School.
