Vikings go unbeaten, Braves beat Wildcats

BOUNTIFUL – The Viewmont Vikings took down Northridge last week to finish the regular season with a Region 1 title and an unbeaten record.

Bountiful and Woods Cross played each other to finish the season, and Bountiful used three first half goals to down Woods Cross 4-1.

Davis lost to Northridge last Thursday, but still made the playoffs by a single point.

Viewmont beats Northridge, goes unbeaten in the regular season

The Vikings boys’ soccer team finished the regular season with an unbeaten 15-0-1 record after beating Northridge 2-0 last Tuesday.

Matt Hansen and Tyler Beckstrand each scored a goal for the Vikings. Porter May picked up a shutout at the net, his ninth of the season.

May’s shutout set a new school record at Viewmont.

The Vikings also finished the season as the No. 1 ranked team in the 5A classification.

Braves beat Wildcats to close out the season

Bountiful and Woods Cross finished their respective regular seasons against each other last week.

Behind a three-goal first half by Bountiful, the Braves picked up the 4-1 win and guaranteed themselves a home match when the playoffs started earlier this week.

Nate Smith scored two goals for Bountiful in the win. Carsen Tinker and Alex Simpson scored a goal each for the Braves, and Gabe Morris added a goal in the second half for Woods Cross.

The Wildcats missed the playoffs this season.

Davis drops to Northridge 1-0, still makes 5A playoffs

The Darts lost their regular season finale last Thursday to Northridge 1-0, but still made the state 5A playoffs by a single point over the Knights in Region 1.

Robert Crawford scored the only goal in the game and Zach Nielson picked up the shutout at the net for the Knights.

Games this week

The state 4A and 5A playoffs continue through next week. Quarterfinal games will be played Friday at the home sites of the teams remaining in the playoffs.

Game times for playoff games is 4 p.m.
