BOUNTIFUL – The Bountiful Braves baseball team remained undefeated in Region 6 play after taking down Cyprus 4-2 last Friday.

In Region 1, Viewmont picked up its first winning streak of the season after sweeping its series against Syracuse.

Braves beat Pirates 4-2, still undefeated in region play

Bountiful scored three in the bottom half of the first inning against Cyprus last Friday and managed to escape a small rally by the Pirates to pick up a 4-2 win.

Two of Bountiful’s runs in the first inning were driven in by Ryan Curtis, who hit a triple to get the offense started.

A squeeze bunt play brought home another run for Bountiful in the third, and Cyprus scored a pair of runs in the fifth for a brief rally.

Parker DePasquale picked up the win on the mound.

Wildcats rally to beat Judge Memorial, 5-4

Woods Cross trailed by as many as four runs after four innings in last Friday’s game against Judge Memorial.

But a run in the fifth and two runs each in the sixth and seventh inning capped off the comeback win for the Wildcats, who won the game on a bases loaded walk.

Shaden Fisher pitched a complete game for Woods Cross to get the win, striking out nine and walking one batter. Only one of the four runs allowed by Woods Cross was earned.

Nate Sundh hit a double for Woods Cross in the win.

Viewmont sweeps Syracuse after 10-2 win

A three game sweep from the Viewmont baseball team has the Vikings right back in the hunt for a playoff spot in Region 1.

Viewmont beat the Titans 10-2 last Friday, sweeping Syracuse and handing the Titans their eighth loss in nine games.

Austin Burt picked up the win on the mound and Colby Simons, Isaac Evans and Weston Sandberg each hit doubles for the Vikings.

Viewmont had 11 hits as a team.
