BOUNTIFUL — Ashtin Hall is a thief. And the Bountiful Braves stole home on Thursday and in doing so the hearts of the Woods Cross Wildcats as the run gave the Lady Braves a wild 10-9 win in extra innings.

“I love to steal bases,” Hall said. “This was a wild one.”

The game was as crazy as the final play.

The Lady Braves appeared to walk off the field with a blow out win leading 8-0 in the 4th inning. Woods Cross battled back picking up four runs in the fifth and sixth innings respectively.

With the game in extra innings, Woods Cross scored in the top of the 8th and Bountiful tied it up in the bottom of the 8th and then Hall sent the Cats packing.

“I have confidence sending Ashtin in those situations,” said Bountiful coach Butch Latey. “She’s a great base runner and knows how to get it done.

“This was a wild one, but we’ll take it.”

Hall was 4-for-4 in the game so it was only reasonable to think she’d come up with the big run.

“I was happy I could help our seniors get this win at home against our rival,” Hall said afterwards. “This was a great game.”

Madi White picked up the win for Bountiful.

“We always cheer as a team before each game,” Hall said. “This was one of those games where we came together and pulled it out.”
