SALT LAKE CITY - “He is Risen,” the latest album by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra on Temple Square reached number 1 in two categories on the Billboard Top 100 charts this week.

The album, released April 1, topped the Classical Traditional and the Current Classical Total charts, according to a press release from Deseret Book.

The album features well-known hymns, such as “Christ the Lord is Risen Today,” “In the Garden,” and “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.”

The choir’s work has garnered a Grammy award and two Emmy awards, plus five gold and two platinum albums.

With television broadcasts and tours throughout the world, the choir has become well known, and serves as an ambassador for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Billboard charts are the American music industry’s standard popularity charts issued weekly by Billboard magazine. Chart rankings are based on radio play, streaming online and sales.
