SYRACUSE – Syracuse police arrested a man last week they say met a Logan teen on the Internet then drove back to Syracuse twice to have sex with her during the summer of 2012.
Jeffrey Don Winn, 36, was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of two third-degree felony counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
According to a probable cause statement filed at the time of Winn’s arrest, Logan police contacted Syracuse police last year.
An interview was conducted at the Children’s Justice Center, in which the girl allegedly told police that she had conversed with a man via the Internet, the court document said.
The man and girl arranged for him to pick her up in Logan and he allegedly drove her to Syracuse twice between June and July 2012, where they allegedly engaged in sex according to the document.
Police say she gave them details about the man and the home he took her to.
Police arrested Winn on an unrelated warrant and questioned him. After being read his Miranda rights and told of the accusations, Winn asked for an attorney, the document said.
He is being held in the Davis County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The Davis County Atorney’s Ofice is reviewing the case before any charges are filed.
