CENTERVILLE – A Centerville resident has been selected to run the Captive Division of the Utah Insurance Commission.

David J. Snowball is replacing Ross Elliott at the end of the month.

Snowball has been with the division since 2010, and has seen it grow substantially.

Before joining the Insurance Commission, which is a state agency  he owned an income tax preparation business that included five offices and 50 employees. He was also a comptroller for a construction company.

Snowball is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

“My focus as director is to maintain the legacy Ross is leaving of being consistent, responsive and reasonable,” he said.

Snowball and his wife Mary Ann have five children, 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a press release from the department said.
