March Family History classes set

SALT LAKE CITY – The LDS Family History Library is offering a number of courses throughout March for family history enthusiasts.

On Saturday, March 1, the library is offering a course for Spanish-speaking patrons, “Y Ahora Que? Como Hacer la Investigacion Genealogica,” beginning at 1 p.m.

Then on Saturday, March 8, a series of classes on U.S. souther states research is planned. Topics include “Southern History and Genealogy,” “Burned Counties Research,” and “Southern Migration Trails.” Classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Another series of classes for Spanish-speaking patrons is set for March 15. Topics include “Tecnicas Para Busquedas Eficaces en los Registros de FamilySearch,” and “El Arbol Familiar de FamilySearch: Fuentes, Fotos e Historias.” Classes will begin at 1 and 3 p.m.

During the week  of March 17-21, the library is offering a series of 10 classes on Irish research. Two classes will be held each day beginning at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Specific information on the classes can be found at

The month wraps up with classes on French research on Saturday, March 22. Topics include: “Basic French Research,” “Reading French Church and Civil  Records,” and “French Internet.” Classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
