SALT LAKE CITY – The Viewmont Vikings and Davis County Independent Eagles hockey teams have been battling all week to win a state title.

After their respective games earlier this week, the Vikings earned a spot in the semi-finals of the Affiliated State Championship playoff when they took down Murray on Wednesday at the Steiner Arena in Salt Lake City.

The Eagles will also play in their championship game on Saturday after beating Northern Utah Independent in the semi-final game played Wednesday.

The Vikings will play Park City on Friday at 7:15. A win will place them in the championship game, and a loss would pit them against either Murray or Uintah.

The Eagles will face the winner of the NUI/Utah County Independent-South game. A win for DCI on Saturday gives them the Independent State Championship.

The Eagles championship game will start at 6:45 p.m. and will also be played at the Steiner Arena.
