CENTERVILLE – “Of Things That Matter Most,” is the theme of a women’s conference hosted by the Centerville North Stake of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 9 a.m., at the state center, 1461 N. Main, in Centerville.
The morning will feature several speakers and musics, followed by a brunch for all women living in the nine wards that make up the stake, according to Kristan Hatch, the Centerville North State Relief Society President.
The theme for the conference was taken from a talk given by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, second counselor in the First Presidency of the church, who spoke of putting relationships first.
In that address, Uchtdorf urged members to slow down a little bit, “focus on the significant, lift up our eyes, and truly see the things that matter most.”
Stake Relief Societies hold women’s conferences annually. The format changes from year to year and stake to stake and may include talks, other presentations or days of service, Hatch said.
“Personally, I’ve always felt the conferences rebuilds my confidence and helps me recognize who I am,” Hatch said. “I also enjoy speaking with women from the other wards,” Hatch said. “It’s a great opportunity
Saturday’s event is expected to draw about 450 women.
