LAYTON- The Layton Police Department released surveillance video of an alleged lewd act that took place inside a Target store.

23-year old Miles Blakely was arrested Tuesday on numerous lewdness charges by Layton Police and booked into the Davis County Jail.

Blakeley was booked on two counts of lewdness involving a child, a class A misdemeanor, and 10 counts of possession of child pornography, a felony.

Monday evening, Feb. 10, Layton police received a report that a man had exposed himself to a 4-year-old girl. She told her mother of the incident which allegedly occurred while they were shopping at the Layton Target store earlier on Monday.

After investigators reviewed surveillance footage and checked with other businesses in the area, they determined Blakeley was the suspect and detained him at the Lowe's store in Layton.

Police say Blakley had a cell phone which contained videos and images depicting child pornography.

Police determined that Blakeley matched the description of a suspect involved in a lewdness incident at the Layton Lowe's on Nov. 24, 2013. It is also suspected that he was involved in the same kind of activity at the Layton WalMart within the last month, police said.

Police are asking anyone with information who was at the Target between 12:45 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 to contact them at 801-336-3443.

Police also emphasized how quickly this type of incident can occur, as the video shows the suspect approach the victim and commit the lewd act within seconds of her guardian separating from her.

Police encouraged parents and other adults to monitor young children closely in public environments to help ensure their safety.

Have you ever lost sight of your children in a store or public place?
