FARMINGTON - A man who pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a child was sentenced to a year in jail on Wednesday, Jan. 29.
Bryan Garth Gee, 25, pleaded guilty to five, second-degree felony counts of sexual abuse of a child in December.
In sentencing Gee, 2nd District Judge David Hamilton gave him credit for the 98 days he has served in jail since his arrest. Hamilton also ordered Gee to receive treatment at the Northern Utah Community Correction Center and to serve three years' probation with Adult Probation and Parole.
The judge suspended five sentences of 1 to 15 years at the Utah State Prison in lieu of the jail time and probation.
Clinton police arrested Gee on Oct. 23 after one of the victims revealed the abuse to her therapist. One of the victims said the abuse began when she was between 6 and 7 years of age. That abuse continued for about a year.
Another victim reported the abuse happened from the time she was 7 until she was 14.
The third victim told police she was about 9 and the abuse lasted about a year.
Police said the victims told police Gee was younger than 18 when the abuse started.
