New provider announced for Hill AFB water systems

HILL AFB –  A new provider has been named to operate the water and wastewater systems at Hill AFB, a press release said.

American Water Works Company, Inc., reportedly the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, said it received the contract to own, operate and maintain the systems.

The agreement is estimated at about $288 million over 50 years.

 That brings to10 the number of military installations served by the company, the release said. 

The firm was founded in 1886 and is based in Voorhees, N.J. It employes about 6,700 people. It serves an estimated 14 million people in more than 30 states and parts of Canada.
