FARMINGTON— A Woods Cross man accused of breaking his infant son’s femur and shoulder blade will be sentenced March 6 after pleading guilty to reduced charges.

Ryan Keith Knight, 25,  pleaded guilty to two third-degree felony child abuse charges on Thursday. A trial date set for Feb. 24-25 was canceled.

He was originally charged with two counts of second-degree felony child abuse.

According to charging documents, the mother of the 6-month-old child noticed her son’s leg was bent in a strange direction and that he was irritable.

Knight had been caring for the baby before the mother saw the injury, according to the charging document.  She took the baby to the doctor. X-rays showed the injuries.

Woods Cross police received a report from the state Division of Child and Family Services about the boy who was treated at Primary Children’s Medical Center.
