KAYSVILLE — An open house to recognize Gil Miller for his eight years on the city council is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kaysville City Hall.

Miller has served two terms on the council but was not re-elected in last November’s election.

He was recognized at a recent city council meeting for his contributions.

“He has great insight and great leadership,” said Mayor Steve Hiatt. “He will be sorely missed.”

Police Chief Sol Oberg also presented an award to Miller.

“His decisions are always based on rational thought and what’s best for the city,” said Oberg.

In accepting the awards, Miller said he has enjoyed every moment “except elections.”

“It has been an honor to serve with great city council members and a great city staff,” said Miller. “It’s been a pleasure to serve the citizens of Kaysville.”

The city hall is located at 23 E. Center.
