BOUNTIFUL – A Bountiful man who allegedly stole a vehicle is still on the loose in the Salt Lake City area after leading police on a high-speed chase that ultimately ended at a Home Depot.

A report from both the Deseret News and the Salt Lake Tribune websites said Travis McDonald, 31, was located at 8:30 a.m. with the suspected stolen vehicle –a Ford F-350— but had switched license plates on the vehicle. From there, police pursued McDonald for approximately 20 minutes before the truck was left in a ditch.

McDonald stole another vehicle from a construction site and left it approximately three blocks from the Home Depot store located at 300 W. 2100 South in Salt Lake City.

He was chased on foot by police, and was spotted entering the store by another officer.

The business was cleared out to allow for further searching, but McDonald was not spotted.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, which updated its article at 1:30 p.m., McDonald has been seen at several locations since, but has not been found by police.
