Woods Cross beats rival Bountiful, move one step closer to region title
The Lady Wildcats volleyball team moved one step closer to a region title last week as they beat cross town rival Bountiful 3-1 last Thursday.
The win for the Wildcats was their 12th in a row, all in region play.
For just the second time all season, the Wildcats had to come from behind in order to get the win. Woods Cross lost the first set 25-21 before winning the last three, 25-12, 27-25, and 25-20.
The only other time the Wildcats have trailed in a match was against the Braves on Sept. 24. They won the match 3-2.
It was also the only time the Wildcats have played five sets all season.
The loss for Bountiful was its first since losing to Woods Cross in the five-set thriller. The Braves were one game behind Judge Memorial as of press time.

The Lady Darts volleyball team fell to Syracuse 3-1 last Thursday, marking the third time they’ve lost in the last four matches.
After dropping the first set, the Darts tied the match at 1-1 after taking the second set 25-14. They lost the last two 25-22 and 25-19 to fall to 5-6 in region play.
As of press time, the Darts still hold the fourth and final position from the region heading into the state volleyball tournament.
Viewmont drops third straight region match to close out the season
The Lady Vikings dropped in a three-set sweep to the Fremont Silver Wolves last Thursday, marking their third loss in a row in region play.
The Lady Vikings’ only region win this season was against Weber back on Oct. 8, a 3-1 win. It was their only region win of the year.
Outside of region play, the Vikings were 11-5. They finished 5-2 in the Hunter Tournament to open the season, and were 4-3 in the Claim Jumper Tournament in mid-October.
