FARMINGTON — A new trial date has been set for the woman accused of stabbing a Bountiful man in his apartment on Feb. 21, 2012.

On Tuesday, 2nd District Judge David Conner set a five-day trial beginning March 31, 2014, for Shannon Sander, who is accused of killing Michael Dunn.

Sander was scheduled to go to trial on Nov. 18. However, her attorney, Mark Arrington asked that a new trial date be set because new witnesses have come forward.

At a preliminary hearing held last year, several officers testified that Sander allegedly told them she stabbed Dunn because he kept groping her. Officers said she told them that she and Dunn had known each other for 12 years and for the last six their relationship had been platonic.

The night Dunn died, police say the two had been drinking.

Dunn was found with one stab wound to the chest.
