FARMINGTON —  Mechanical monsters and ghoulish drama students are waiting to scare you silly.

Farmington resident Mike Willden is once again celebrating the season with his free haunted house, which is open tonight through Oct. 31 from 6:45-9:30 p.m. at 1726 Burke Lane. The house is full of Willden’s huge collection of animatronic creatures that he tweaks every year, and students from the Viewmont High drama department are on hand to add to the screams.

“This is a must-experience production,” he said.

A test engineer, Willden regularly makes different mechanical creatures and effects that he uses to change the haunted house from year to year.

Admission is free, but $3 donations to the VHS drama department are welcome. The students there have partnered with Willden on the house for several years, beginning back when it was located in Centerville.

“They play numerous characters,” said Willden. “We encourage donations as a way to help support them.”
