Nolan Bud Porter 85, passed away on Oct 22, 2013 at his home in Bountiful of pancreatic cancer. He was born to Ann and Jessie Porter of Lewiston. He loved sports and played on the state championship basketball team for North Cache High. He served an LDS mission to the Eastern States Mission. He married Helen Hackwell on May 5, 1955 in the Manti Temple. They built their home in Bountiful in 1961 where they resided for 52 years until his passing.

Wonderful neighbors and friends blessed their lives. Bud worked in the electrical industry his whole career most notably for Thomas & Betts for 34 years. He was greatly admired by both customers and competitors. His life was one of service. Bud served on Temple Square for 20 yrs, Festival of Trees for 13 years, the Church History Museum for 10 years and Lakeview Hospital for five years.

He is survived by their 4 children Steven (Jan) Porter, Leslie (Brian) Carmack, Jeff (Marilyn) Porter, JoLynn (Brandon) Atkinson, 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and his brother, Boyd Porter. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, also an infant granddaughter.

Funeral services were held on Saturday Oct 26, 2013 in Bountiful. Interment was at the Bountiful Cemetery. Online guest book at
