WOODS CROSS — Rivalry Week was the theme in south Davis County last week.
In another thrilling week of high school football, Davis shut out the Vikings to claim the third win in a row over Viewmont.
At Bountiful High School, Woods Cross started its own winning streak over the Braves, claiming a 22-14 game.
Darts win rivalry game over Vikings, 36-0
The Davis Darts football team extended its winning streak to six games, and the defense collected its second shutout of the season as they took down Viewmont 36-0 in Region 1 action.
Colton Chronister had a solid day at quarterback for the Darts, throwing for over 200 yards and four touchdowns through the air.
He also led the team in rushing with 105 yards on 12 carries.
Parker Rose scored on a rushing touchdown and ran for 81 yards on 21 carries. Mason White ran for 65 yards on 21 carries.
In the receiving corps, Mitch Smith caught two touchdown passes from Chronister. Trevor Leavitt had 76 receiving yards on two catches with one touchdown.
Davis Hanson led the team in tackles with nine, and Tyler Hinds and Connor Simonsen each had an interception.
Woods Cross downs Bountiful, 22-14
The Woods Cross High School football team extended its winning streak over Bountiful to two games after Friday night’s 22-14 victory.
The Wildcats scored all of their points in the first half, starting with Xequille Harry’s 80-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.
Luke Jowers scored the second offensive touchdown for Woods Cross by scampering in from two yards away, and then converted the two-point attempt by finding Sean Gallagher for a one-yard pass.
After Bountiful scored to cut the lead to 15-6, Brandon Kinsey took the ensuing kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown and a 22-6 halftime lead.
Houston Heimuli of Bountiful scored the final touchdown in the game on a five-yard run with 38 seconds left in the third quarter.
Games this week
After its victory over Bountiful, the Wildcats look to improve their record to 6-1 as they take on Highland at Highland High School Friday night.
Bountiful will stay at home to host Kearns, which beat Fremont 42-41 last Friday, and Viewmont will host Syracuse in Region 1.
Davis is on a bye week.
All games kickoff at 7 p.m.
