Construction narrows I-15 next two weekends

LAYTON - If you're heading north this weekend or next weekend, it might be a good idea to stay off the freeway.

From 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., construction work will squeeze I-15 down to two lanes through the Layton area. That area of freeway normally has four lanes, which narrows down to three within the Layton boundaries.

The lanes will be closed so that crews can repair bridges along Hill Field Road.

With LDS General Conference coming Oct. 5-6 and a USU vs. BYU game on Oct. 4, UDOT is expecting heavy congestion that weekend. Drivers are encouraged to use Highway 89 or Interstate 84 when traveling through the Layton area.
