LAYTON — The 20-year-old man believed to have drowned in Holmes Creek Reservoir has been found dead.

The body of Tyler Flint was found at about 8 a.m. Friday morning. Initially described as a Layton resident swimming with two of his friends, Flint was a Clearfield resident.

Flint “was swimming with friends in the reservoir when he experienced trouble and began to go under the surface,” according to a press release from the Layton Police Department. A female friend, along with two passersby, was unable to save him, and Davis County search and rescue began searching for him at about 6 p.m. on Thursday night.

Dive teams from the Utah Highway Patrol, Davis County Sheriff’s Office and the Weber County Sheriff’s office were involved in the initial search this morning starting at approximately 6:30 a.m.

Layton Police are reporting the death as an accident.
