The Marvel comics legend and co-creator of Spiderman, the X-Men, Iron Man and more, will head a panel at the convention on Saturday. He will also sign autographs and be available for pictures with fans.
According to show producer Dan Farr, organizers didn’t hold back the announcement as a surprise.
“We tried for months to get Stan Lee to come,” said Farr. “But it wasn’t until Lou Ferrigno met with him on Monday and we got our 30,000 ticket sold that he said yes.”
Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk in “The Incredible Hulk” TV series, received a lifetime achievement award from Lee earlier this week.
According to Farr, the Salt Lake Comic Con is the biggest first year convention in the nation. It runs Sept. 5-7 at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake.
