BOUNTIFUL – Seventy-five years ago, members of the Orchard Ward met in what would be the first meetinghouse of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in south Davis County.

Next week, the Orchard First Ward will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee.  All are invited who have ever been members of the ward.

A big band dance, featuring a live band, will be held on Friday, August 23, at 261 East Center Street in North Salt Lake, beginning at 7 p.m. People ages 18 and older are welcome.

On Saturday, August 24, a dinner barbeque for all ages will be held at the ward building at 3707 S. 800 West (west of Adelaide Elementary School). Festivities will begin at 5 p.m., with diner served from 6:30-8 p.m.

There will be activities for children and youth, and those who attend are asked to bring photographs or other items that will bring back memories of the ward.
