Six local baseball players to play All-Star Game

WOODS CROSS – Six local American Legion baseball players, including three from south Davis County, will represent the North American Legion all-stars on Saturday.

The quintet of players were voted as the North American Legion All-Stars from their league, and now they prepare to face the Salt Lake Valley American Legion All-Stars in Saturday’s game. 

That will be played at 7 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City.

From south Davis County, a pair of Bountiful athletes and one Woods Cross players will represent the North American All-Stars. 

Woods Cross’ Josh Cowley and Bountiful’s Ben Fowers and Ryan Stringfellow will combine with Syracuse’s Chase Bauerle and Layton’s Dexter Paiz and Caleb Harrop as part of the 18-player roster.

There will also be another Utah American Legion baseball tournament later this month, taking place in Logan from July 27-Aug. 3.
