FARMINGTON – Bids are being reviewed, and a contract should be awarded within weeks, for work on the Legacy Events Center soccer complex.
On Tuesday, county commissioners opened five bids ranging from the $800,000s to over $1 million for the multi-faceted project.
The project covers about 16 acres and will include grading the fields and planting grass seed, installing an irrigation system, installing sidewalk and fence around the site. Nineteen more RV power and water hookups will also be installed, said Legacy Events Center Director Dave Hansen.
“We’re starting late (in the year) on this because we knew if we could use our own (county) public works department we would save money” compared to hiring an outside firm to complete work of grading the site, moving in fill and building a drainage system, he said.
