LAYTON —  Hill AFB will gain about 200 new long-term, high-paying jobs due to a consolidation of the nation’s F-22 Fighter fleet.

The Air Force will combine the fleet at the Lockheed Martin base in Palmdale, Calif. with the local fleet, based on findings of an internal Air Force Business Case Analysis.

“The analysis makes it clear it will be most cost-effective and efficient to bring the F-22 Program Office to HAFB, a spokesperson for the congressman said.

The consolidation includes total sustainment operations.

The move will result in savings of more than $16 million a year and potential savings of up to $41 million a year, said Vanessa Bolin Sims, Deputy, Air Force House Liaison Office in Washington, D.C.
