Steve T. Nixon, 65 of Bountiful/Centerville, passed away May 26, 2013 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just two and one-half months ago. Steve was born Steven Tommy Nixon in Salt Lake City on July 26, 1947, eldest child of Tommy LeRoy and Annamarie Nixon. He was a proud graduate of Davis High School, class of 1965. He then attended Weber State College for two years. He worked for the Davis School District as a head custodian from which he retired. He also worked at Dick’s Bakery as a baker. He married Colleen Rosser in 1967. They had two children, Cassie and Steve. They divorced in 1994, but remained friends and helped each other with the needs and care of their son, Steve.
Steve loved sports, number one fan of the Yankees, Raiders and the Jazz. He also had a passion for music, especially Elvis and enjoyed going to concerts. Other hobbies include riding his Goldwing motorcycle and travel. Steve was a wonderful grandpa, with a big heart, who supported his grandchildren in all their activities. He was the first one in the stands or in the audience. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in several callings throughout his life.
Steve is survived by his children: Cassie (Kymber) Housley, Steve S. Nixon; his siblings: Scott (Judy) Nixon, Rick (Pam) Nixon, Sindy Nixon; his grandchildren: Chaz (Courtney) Housley, Hadlee (Corey) Daines, Brooklyn Housley; and a great-granddaughter coming in October. Preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Annamarie Nixon. Steve will be greatly missed. He loved to keep traditions going and enjoyed planning gatherings with family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 100 South Main, Bountiful. A viewing will be held Sunday, June 2, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake View Memorial Mortuary, 1640 E. Lakeview Drive, Bountiful and Monday morning 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the Tabernacle prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
