WEST BOUNTIFUL — Give your mother the gift of music this Mother’s Day.
The West Bountiful Arts Council is celebrating the holiday with their upcoming Young Artists Concert, set for May 10 at 7 p.m. at West Bountiful City Hall. The event will feature a mix of vocal and instrumental performances by several of the city’s young musicians.
“They’re excited to share their talents and love of music,” said Colleen Maloy, a member of the council. “We’re confident they’ll provide a wonderful program for everyone.”
The concert will be modeled after NPR’s “From the Top,” program, which also focuses on young musicians. Performances will be interspersed by moments when host Doug Parrish interviews the musicians about their lives and choice of music.
“We want to help the audience get to know the next generation of music lovers” said Maloy.
The list of musicians who will get a moment in the spotlight include harpist Meg Sowby, pianists Brad Quick and Levi Gough, violinist Madeline Stokes, and vocalists Chelsea Marsden, Bretleigh Sandorf and Mayee Ballard.
John Maloy will sing and accompany himself on the guitar. Band instrumentalists Aaron Turnblom, Austin Davis, Clayton Jorgensen and Ryan Wilkinson will also perform.
West Bountiful City Hall is located at 550 N. 800 West
