SYRACUSE — A 34-year-old Syracuse woman and her daughter remain hospitalized after crashing into a utility pole just before 5 p.m. last Thursday.

The accident happened at 2329 W. 1700 South, when the woman, driving a 2001 Ford Expedition, apparently suffered a medical emergency and crashed into the pole, according to Syracuse Lt. Heath Rogers. He added it doesn’t appear alcohol or drugs were involved.

The woman was taken by air ambulance to McKay-Dee Hospital in serious condition. Her 10-year-old daughter was taken by ground ambulance.

Because the accident was still under investigation, the woman and her daughter were not being publicly identified, Rogers said.
