FARMINGTON A woman who rented a car from a rental agency in Layton has a warrant out for her arrest, after she didn’t return the vehicle.

Tamika Rachay Smith, 33, allegedly rented the car from Enterprise in Layton on Feb. 6, according to an arrest warrant filed in 2nd District Court last week.

In a contract with the company, Smith allegedly agreed to return the car by Feb. 11. She called the company on Feb. 14 requesting more time,  but “when she was told she had to return the vehicle first, she hung up the phone,” the court document said.

Smith was later found in Florida but was not arrested. The car was impounded.

Typically, vehicles need to be returned within 72 hours of the due date, or the renter can face felony charges.
