Ernest (Ernie) L. Cima returned home to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Lakeview Hospital. He was born at home in Helper, on August 19, 1937 to Ernest and Birdie (Leonard) Cima.He was the fourth of six children.

He attended schools in Helper and Price.He joined the Navy at the end of the Korean conflict. He served his country for six years, mostly stationed on aircraft carriers in the Pacific.

After the Navy, he moved to Salt Lake City, went to school and became an electrical draftsman. He worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington, then moved to California and has spent the last 20 years in Bountiful.

Ernie was an active member of the LDS Church and held the office of a High Priest. He loved genealogy and spent the last 30 years gathering family names and doing temple work. He was always willing to help family members with family histories. He was also a member of the Bountiful Chapter of “The Sons of the Utah Pioneers.”

Ernie is survived by his three children: Mark, Carolyn and Nancy, six grandchildren; a brother, Jack Cima; sisters, Pat Isaacs, Geri Turnbull and Jill Peterson, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, James, and a nephew, Michael Turnbull.

Honoring Ernie’s request, a graveside service was held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Mt. View Cemetery in Helper.

The family wants to thank all of those that took care of Ernie this past year, both at Lakeview Hospital and North Canyon Care Center. They are all very special caregivers. A special thank you to Marty, Sylvia and Heidi at the care center for their concerns for Ernie.
