Grace Theobald Bell Waldram, 87, passed away peacefully March 9, 2013 at the Avalon Care Center in Bountiful. She was born October 8, 1925 in Hinckley, Utah to Carl George and Florence LaVern Croft Theobald, the fifth of nine children. She was educated in Hinckley and Delta, where she was a high school cheerleader. She later attended Brigham Young University.

Grace married Ross Kay Bell on August 14, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had three children, two sons and one daughter and were later divorced. She married Kenneth Lowell Waldram on May 31, 1966 in Salt Lake City. She was widowed in 1976.

Grace lived in New Jersey, Florida and Georgia when her children were young. They returned to Utah County after her divorce. She worked for Utah Power and Light and struggled as a single mother in the 1950’s to support her children. They moved to Bountiful in 1963.

Grace was an avid bowler. She was inducted into the Great Salt Lake Bowling Hall of Fame in 2007. She was an active member of the PWBA for several years. Grace participated in many national tournaments and bowled a sanctioned 703 series.

“Grandma Grace” always supported her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities. She was known and feared by every baseball umpire in the Salt Lake Valley. She loved Sunday dinners with her family and loved playing games with them.

Grace was an active member of the LDS Church and was so thankful for her dedicated home teachers and visiting teachers. She served in the Bountiful Temple for a short time. During the last few years of her life she found great companionship and lively competition, playing cards at the Golden Years Center of Bountiful.

Grace was well cared for by her home health workers and the staff at LDS Hospital and at Avalon Care Center.

Grace was preceded in death by her mother and father and seven of her eight siblings. She is survived by her beloved brother Paul (Beulah) Theobald, Orem, her children, Rand (Camille) Bell, North Salt Lake; Bonne Bell, Lakeland, FL, David Cody (Rose O’Reilly), LV, NV, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, soon to be 21.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at the Val Verda 5th Ward Chapel, 2633 S. 50 West, Bountiful. Viewing prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
