Just recently, he was elected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Credit Union National Association at its annual meeting in Washington, D.C.
Mecham is the first Utahn to become chairman of CUNA and will serve as Chairman for a two-year term.
Scott Simpson, president of the Utah League of Credit Unions, said this appointment is significant for Utah’s credit unions.
“This is a big deal,” Simpson said. “Utah has been on the front edge of credit union activity and the banker attacks in particular and Kris has been there through it all. Having his peers recognize that leadership is significant.”
Prior to working as CEO of Deseret First Federal Credit Union, Mecham was an executive officer of Idaho's two largest credit unions and President of the Idaho League of Credit Unions.
Coldwell Banker going green
BOUNTIFUL — Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage is going green.
The banker recently unveiled a large redesign of all of its marketing materials, becoming one of the first major brokerages to incorporate “green” printing practices in its marketing.
The newly redesigned collateral includes listing presentation materials, buyer materials, direct mail, print advertising, company and agent online materials and website designs used by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage and its 1,200 sales associates along the Wasatch Front.
“From a marketing standpoint, it is extremely important to evolve our company image over time,” said Anne Treacy, western region vice president of marketing for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. “Our new marketing materials are clean and crisp keeping with current design trends while remaining timeless.”
Treacy said it was important to Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage executives and agents that the redesign embraces innovative, environmentally responsible practices.
As a result, the company specifically chose a paper manufacturer that is at the forefront of environmentally sound manufacturing.
The majority of the marketing materials are being printed on Forest Stewardship Council (or FSC) certified paper from Mohawk Paper, which uses wind power produced electricity.
The council also sets principles, criteria and standards for the wood fiber industry that span economic, social and environmental concerns. Mohawk Paper is known for reducing emissions, using raw materials responsibly and offering a wide range of recycled papers.
The “green” marketing effort is the latest move by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage to incorporate environmentally responsible business practices into its daily operations.
Treacy said more and more agents are moving towards printing on demand either within their office or home.
Their new design is online and less color intensive, offering this flexibility and ultimately, reduces waste. The new design also allows agents to ensure that the materials available on the company’s Intranet, UtahAgents.net, mirror all of the materials in its offices.
The announcement marks the first redesign of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s marketing materials in four years and follows nine months of planning, research, focus group testing and production of the revamped look and feel.
